A spectacular piece of windowed/half-polished blue amber from the Dominican Republic.
Natural blue amber from the Dominican Republic. Dominican blue amber is formed from fossilized resin of the hymenaea protera tree and is known to be 25-40 million years old. Unlike the resin that forms common amber (such as Baltic amber), the resin from the hymenaea protera tree contains hydrocarbons that allow natural light to be refracted in such a way that make the amber glow a fluorescent blue. Blue amber is one of our specialties. Here we bring you high quality B grade windowed/half-polished blue amber from the Dominican Republic. This amber would be ideal for a small carving, cabbing, or an addition to your collection.
